KCS has been putting out IT fires since 1987.

 

In 1986 having returned to Omaha after serving in the US Army, our founder, Jim Kotan, developed the "itch" for computers.    He began working with Borland dBase-2 and dBase-3+, then Fox Software's FoxPlus and FoxPro.

In 1987 he started building and selling computers and working with Windows, Unix and Linux.

In 1999, he started working with Oracle Database version 7 and decided Database was the new path of the business and the rest is history.  Since then KCS has worked with customers all over the US (and even a very large bank in Mexico City, Mexico) on Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server.

KCS has expertise ranging from very small (< 5gb) up to Very Large (>30TB) databases (both Standalone and RAC, Active Data Guard), ensuring they are working at peak performance.

In 2010 Kotan Consulting Services converted from a Sole Proprietorship to an LLC, became registered with the Better Business Bureau

In 2015, Jim had the opportunity to relocate the headquarters to the Phoenix, AZ area.  He's enjoying the far more comfortable climate and lack of snow.

 

KCS has customers in Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Missouri, Arizona and Illinois (and others in the works) without Oracle DBAs and for whom we alone provide their database administration services.  Like they, you can count on KCS to always be there for you.
